My yoga journey began around 1999 at an Ashtanga studio and fell in love with the flow, the warmth and the connection with my breath, movement and mind. Fortunately I was able to find a hatha instructor that would come downtown Calgary teach at lunchtimes in our building, it fostered my curiosity and growth. After a few years of a casual yoga practice, I began to feel a pull towards learning more about yoga, and felt I needed a little extra push to encourage me to make time for myself to practice.  I decided upon the Yoga Studio of Calgary where I was graciously accepted into the program, The more I learned, the more I wanted to share. During my training, my husband was relocated back to Rocky Mountain House for work and all I could think was how beautiful it would be to share yoga in ways it was shared with me in Calgary. I started to teach anywhere I could, rented spaces literally anywhere until I decided my students needed something more. I wanted to give them a slice of what I had experienced at the studios in Calgary, so I opened up the first yoga studio in Rocky called Yoga Journey. It was wonderful while it lasted until I closed the doors a couple years later to raise another baby, and then being diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2011. My teaching was on a hiatus while I mended and grew stronger. Getting back into strength and mobility was an important part to my well being, but I also realized once I got myself strong enough, I also needed to get back to sharing the passion of yoga, and that's when I started teaching at Amanda's space, Seeking Samadhi, which got me back to doing what I loved! Sharing yoga has been healing for me personally after my cancer treatments. I enjoy helping people to gain more flexibility and strength, and also learn how to quiet a busy mind. It gives me pleasure to see that people can move better, feel lighter and happier when they leave a yoga class.

Kinesiology and Sport Studies

In 1989, I moved out to a farm North West of Rocky with my parents and called that home ever since. I grew up and graduated from Will Sinclair in 2001 and ventured off to the big world of Red Deer to complete my Kinesiology and Sport Studies.

In 2005 I graduated and began my career as a personal trainer, CrossFit Instructor, and athletic trainer. And through all of that Iw as blessed with the most supportive and loving man Dylan and 3 incredible boys Drake, Degan and Deklan.

In 2015, I lost my main man, my dad. I was inspired by the yoga community and classes as a way to relax, calm my mind and begin rebuilding myself. This past January, I stepped out of my comfort zone and started my 200Hr Teacher Training with Power Shift Yoga, inspired from the Baron Baptiste, Journey into Power, 90 min Power Flow.

It has been life changing and I am ready to share this with my community. I have become a YES for a change, and to open the doors to a new experience and opportunity to anyone who steps into class.

I am a mom to 3 wonderful boys!    My Yoga Journey began around 11 years ago as a way to manage chronic back pain.  Then something magical happened, I fell in love with the breath and how powerful breathing with awareness can heal the physical and emotional pain body. What can I say I was hooked!  As my mind became still I became the observer to my thoughts and that is when life changed. Life became a little sweeter, letting go of the doubt and judgement allowed me to show up and surrender to this beautiful experience called life.  I really do love all aspects of yoga and have great respect for all lineages. One that specifically speaks to me is Hatha Yoga- traditional in roots without the gimmicks.Favorite pose Downward Dog and Reclined Butterfly. My hope is to create a safe space for students to come breath and just be YOU.  Join me on your mats for Bliss and Breath.

Yoga found me when I was 14. Over the years I have learned that yoga is not one practice or one way of being. Yoga has this beautiful ability to shift, change shape, grow and even soften. Sometimes it is a sweaty, breath filled vinyasa class. Sometimes yoga is experiencing the tears fall down your cheeks. Sometimes it is 20 minutes of child's pose. yoga is all of these things. It is the presence and acceptance of whatever comes in this very moment.
Yin and prenatal yoga are my favourite styles to teach. Both of these practices encourage you to dive deep into your physical body and true that you are exactly where you are meant to be. I am so grateful to bare witness to the physical, mental and spiritual transformations that occur in yin and prenatal yoga.

I love to cook and grow food, and ultimately cook food that I have grown ;) I have 2 little monsters (children). I love to travel and am bilingual (second language is French) and work as a translator.
Teaching yoga is an essential fuel for my practice - it "keeps me on my toes" so to speak. It helps drive me to continue exploring, learning and practicing so that I can share a deeper knowledge of yoga.
favourite Yoga pose of the moment - little bridge
My goal in the next year is to make more advancements on my Yoga Nidra certification.

Throughout my life I had struggled with a Generalized Anxiety Disorder and as I grew elder
I was determined to find a natural way to calm myself. I was first introduced to meditation
when I was defiant of any healing. I hit a rut. My meditation class had changed the projectory of my life. I found meaning, strength, and hope in my new knowledge. My meditation course went through all of the seven chakras, which resonated with me, a fire inside was started for more knowledge. I signed up for my Yoga Teacher Training, and could not have been happier, until my next mediation class. Every week we would meet, discuss the chakras, talk about our experience, then meditate with reiki. The week I signed up for my Yoga Training was the week we worked with our throat chakra. I am a person who believes everything happens for a reason, and the universe knows your plan. I am proof of this! I decided to get my Yoga Training because of my passion and I want to share my knowledge with as many people willing as possible.
As I return home from Bali from my training, I realize my space in this society. My goal is to help spread an awakened state, and help others find their truth. I believe Yoga is the gateway to finding this self!

My yoga journey began around 20 years ago, it has ebbed and flowed with my life, changing and growing. My practice has evolved and deepened. Often being my saviour and safe place to land.  Beginning as superficial activity,it has manifested into a way of life. I fell in love with the philosophy & meaning behind yoga. And as my understanding began to deepen, so did my need to learn more and share it with others. As a 200hr registered Hatha Yoga teacher,  a certified MindfulNess Educator & a being that believes we can make the world a better
Place one breath at a time, I am beyond excited to share this journey with you

I'm a mom of two little ones who are my greatest teachers. I turned to yoga 22 years ago to deal with pain and mental health and it has been a huge part of my life since then. I practice daily and love serving others by sharing the great technology of yoga and meditation. My favourite yoga methodology are the meditations of Kundalini Yoga: I couldn't live without them in my everyday. My favourite yoga poses at the moment are wheel and handstand because I love an open heart and a restored nervous system. My goals for the next year are to keep getting stronger and back to my optimal practice after having babies and to share and grow Kundalini Yoga in this community.

The studio is open 15 minutes before and after class times.
